Tiger Lily

A tiger lily fairy! I painted the figure first, meaning for it to be practice, but then I liked it so much I decided to finish it, and how bright the skirt turned out made me think of the tiger lily, one of my favorite flowers. This is (if she likes it) for my friend Stephanie, who asked for fairies--I'll probably do a set of six or eight. I spent an hour online looking at the art nouveau pictures of Alphonse Muchas to get ideas for the frame, I used a reference picture from google image search as a reference for the background lilies, and a picture by zeldyn-stock as a reference for the figure--see the lovely original here [link]
