I could not for the life of me find an appropriate section for this, and I finally put it here because it's a craft that involves paper. What I really needed was a general arts & crafts/papercraft/bookmaking section, but there isn't one.

But here are some scans of my in-progress deconstruction book/altered book. I took an existing book (a book on nutrition and wellness from the 60s called 'Let's Get Well') and proceeded to make it into something else. These are the first two pages--the one of the left is made up of a fashion advertisment cut from Vogue and pictures of costume jewelry from an article. The text is by Emily Dickinson, and says 'My cocoon tightens- colors tease / I'm feeling for the air / A dim capacity for wings / Degrades the dress I wear'.

The second pages is based around a picture I took of a doorway at a college in Cambridge. The text is all from Lewis Carroll-- 'We're all mad here' in the top left, 'Curiouser and curiouser' on the butterfly, and 'Begin at the beginning, go on until you come to the end, then stop' down the right side. The white rabbit was drawn for me by my friend Cassie.
